audio books
Submitted by mk81 on Tue, 12/29/2009 - 09:12.you can download public domain books from http://librivox.org/. Public
domain means that at least in the USA the book can be freely copied (
the copyright holder died at least 50 years ago) without legal issues.
I would not suggest this for those outside the USA because I am not
sure if there are different rules. It might be okay but I am not a
lawyer so I do not know. There are great books available like Wizard of
OZ, wind in the willows, treasure Island. it is free unless you need to buy blank cds

Books!
Submitted by shawcath on Thu, 12/17/2009 - 19:36.My 29 year old son asked for books for Christmas. I contacted 4 people he loves and/or admires and asked that they email me their five favorite books. I then found the books at used bookstores. In his package I've included their emails - which most often briefly explain why the person has put this book on their 'top 5' list. It's coming together to be a very cool gift!

Give a charitable gift in a loved one's name! "Redefine Christmas" is an awesome idea!
Submitted by SpiritOfChristm... on Tue, 12/15/2009 - 21:55.Decorating the tree
Submitted by willowbird on Tue, 12/15/2009 - 19:34.Our tradition is to decorate the tree with NO ornaments. Popcorn, cranberries, lights and tinsel are OK, but the main thing you see on our tree is our blessing chain. Immediately after Christmas, the kids and I start making a construction paper chain. Each link has a blessing written on it. My kids are currently 2, 4 and 6, so our blessings are simple. Right now our tree sports links that say "escalators," "date nights," "fire," "grass," and numerous names of friends and family members.
