Charitable contribution
Submitted by specalkaye on Sat, 11/07/2009 - 21:06.Give your own gift to those who you expect to give you a gift. An envelope labeled with your name and the charitable orgainzation you plan to give the money to. You can decorate the envelopes or just write on them. Assure everyone who returns the envelope to you that they won't be opened but that you don't want to receive anything else from them, that way no one feels the need to give too much to make an "impression".

Meal of the Month
Submitted by ally10169 on Wed, 11/04/2009 - 14:36.Last year for Christmas we gave my Mother In Law a "Meal of the Month" coupon we made. Each month in 2009 we brought her homemade foods. I usually did 2-3 items and they included things like soups, muffins, desserts, casseroles, appetizers, etc. I just did an assortment of things throughout the year. She loved it! She has always loved my cooking and since it is just her the things I made lasted a few mealtimes for her. It didn't break our budget, it was something she could really use and enjoy and we enjoyed making the items for her.
Just One
Submitted by kevinmadsen on Tue, 11/03/2009 - 01:32.Hey All -
[AC] just blogged on Trade as One (http://www.adventconspiracy.org/blog/interview_with_nathan_george_of_tra...), and I wanted to share the video we put together for this year. Some [AC] churches are choosing to incorporate Fair Trade as a part of their call to give meaningful gifts. The call is to spend less, and to make sure that the gifts that we do buy speak of the sort of world that Jesus came to show us: one where the last is first, the sick are healed, and those in bondage are set free.
